Charred Hardwood Timber Cladding

Renovo Burnished is our charred timber cladding range, inspired by the traditional Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban. Using controlled flame, the surface of the timber is carefully charred to create a protective carbon layer, enhancing durability while delivering a distinctive, organic finish that cannot be replicated with paints or stains. This process not only preserves the timber for long-term performance but also reduces ongoing maintenance. Once charred, each board is coated with a high-penetrating oil to further enhance longevity. We recommend an additional coat after installation, providing a maintenance-free finish for a minimum of 10 years. The result is a striking, high-performance cladding solution suited to architectural exteriors seeking both resilience and visual impact.

It can be left to naturally silver off or oiled to maintain its rich tones, delivering durability with minimal ongoing maintenance.
