Description
Messmate is an Australian hardwood commonly found across Tasmania, Victoria, and the tablelands of New South Wales and southern Queensland. While not as dense or durable as many heavy infrastructure hardwoods, messmate is valued for its workability, warm natural tones, and suitability for interior architectural uses. It will readily accept stains, paints and polishes. Gum veins are quite common and can make beautiful feature for joinery, wall panelling and furniture.
